Motorola Solutions case study: Leadership development on a global scale
After evaluating project needs and timeline, Motorola Solutions designed a people-oriented e-learning framework called “People First,”. They aimed to implement it within six to eight months. The learning experience needed to be consistent for learners across the platform. Furthermore, it had to offer a collaborative online portal for users to form a learning community and encourage peer-to-peer discussion.
Motorola Solutions called on CrossKnowledge to implement what would become a blended online learning solution: People First Academy. In just six months, the project reached 94.7% completion. Then, with the guidance of CrossKnowledge, the company was able to roll out a functional platform in only three months after the launch.
Blended learning to support high quality skills acquisition
Learners can access the solution from any location, and can acquire competencies at the pace they choose. The platform is based on video content, providing an engaging experience not unlike a physical classroom environment. Competencies are taught in bite-sized lessons, so that both beginners and more experienced managers can stay engaged from start to finish. Perhaps most demonstrative of the platform’s success is its popularity among users: Close to 95% of learners found it easy to navigate and over 90% found the content to be helpful and informative.
Today, People First has over 2,500 active users and 4 out of 5 learners found the course to be a worthwhile investment of their time. But things are just getting started! The platform will soon integrate CrossKnowledge’s Blendedx technology and custom third-party content, to better meet the needs of incoming managers.
